The average Higan Cherry can reach a range of 25 to 35-feet tall and wide tree. Specimens usually have multiple trunks with slender upright branches, and a rounded canopy. As the Higan matures it often grows wider than grows tall. Before the leaves appear in spring, the trees are covered with many semi-double pink flowers. Higan flowers may also appear in autumn and winter if the weather is sufficiently warm. The one to four-inch-long dark green leaves are later joined by the appearance of small, black berries. The leaves cast light shade below the spreading canopy, and turn attractive fall colors of yellow and bronze before dropping.

Now, we want to let you in on a little secret! Some of our trees and plants might arrive in a state of dormancy without their leaves. But fret not, because these hardy plants are actually less susceptible to transplant shock and have a fantastic track record when it comes to planting success.
You see, as the seasons change and leaves start to change color in late August and September, many of our trees are already preparing for their cozy winter slumber. So, when your tree arrives with its branches seemingly bare, remember that it's simply getting a head start on its beauty sleep, all in preparation for a magnificent display of foliage when the warmer months return. 🍂🌳
Rest assured, your tree is not only hardy but also incredibly wise in its ways. And as you nurture it through the seasons, you'll witness the breathtaking transformation of its leaves when the time is just right. If you ever have any questions about the timing or care of your tree, don't hesitate to reach out , we're here to help your garden thrive! 🌿🌼
