Also planted in West Potomac Park and celebrated during the National Cherry Blossom Festival are the Weeping Cherry trees. Weeping Cherries are a dramatic flowering tree that can add a unique addition to any landscape.
Natives of Japan, weeping cherry trees have long, drooping branches similar to weeping willows. In the spring, the Weeping Cherry is covered in white or pale-pink blossoms. Although a weeping cherry tree's vertical growth rate is average, the growth rate of its numerous weeping stems can be quite fast. Like most trees with a weeping form, weeping cherry trees generate a lot of shade, making it difficult/impossible to grow anything underneath them. Weeping Cherry trees produce pink to white flowers in profusion, if grown in full sun and well-drained soil.
This weeping tree attains a height of 20-30 feet with a spread of 15-25 feet and can live to be over 100 years old.
Tree seedling will arrive and be 2 - 4 feet in height with planting instructions. Spring Shipping Dates start around March 12 depending on the weather. Volume discounts for 3 or more.

Now, we want to let you in on a little secret! Some of our trees and plants might arrive in a state of dormancy without their leaves. But fret not, because these hardy plants are actually less susceptible to transplant shock and have a fantastic track record when it comes to planting success.
You see, as the seasons change and leaves start to change color in late August and September, many of our trees are already preparing for their cozy winter slumber. During this time, they conserve their energy and resources, which makes them resilient and ready to flourish once spring arrives. So, when your tree arrives with its branches seemingly bare, remember that it's simply getting a head start on its beauty sleep, all in preparation for a magnificent display of foliage when the warmer months return. 🍂🌳
Rest assured, your tree is not only hardy but also incredibly wise in its ways. And as you nurture it through the seasons, you'll witness the breathtaking transformation of its leaves when the time is just right. If you ever have any questions about the timing or care of your tree, don't hesitate to reach out , we're here to help your garden thrive! 🌿🌼
